The backbone of a successful and productive work place can be best defined by the Golden Rule — do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The Golden Rule when simplified can be stated as “respect one another.”

Respect for one another in the work place can be best achieved when each employee  knows what their role within the organization means to the success of the business.  If you are facing the challenges of a divided workforce, here are some rules to help you create a respectful work environment for your employees:

1. Set The Stage – As a leader, you must be the first to discourage those things and employees that breed divisive behaviors in the workplace.

2. Set An Example – Set an example for your team by joining them at their level and verbally acknowledging a job well done as well as any advice as to how one can exceed their potential.

3. Set The Tone – Be consistent in your positivity, good listening habits and proactive attitude.

4. Set The Bar High – When you set these clearly defined and attainable standards as well as model these behaviors, your team members will surpass your expectations and rise to the occasion.

It is Veteran’s Day and there is no better time to emphasize how important respect is to men and women who work as team to accomplish a goal. As we honor the valor of our military men and women, the team at R2R Marketing extends our gratitude and respect to all of you who protect our freedom. Thank you!
