All of us know that in sales it is easy to write off the end of the year as unproductive, in effect turning a 12-month selling year into a 10 or 11-month year. Yes, the customer is distracted, however this doesn’t mean you can’t be a bit proactive in laying the groundwork for a fast start in 2014!

Here are a few tips to help you finish the year strong and show your customers you care.

Send your customers a note to thank them for choosing you in 2013. If appropriate, be sure to mention how you can assist them again in 2014.

Schedule a phone call or face-to-face meeting with customers that have contributed to your success in 2013. Ask them for ideas as to how you can better serve your customers in 2014.

Meet with your team and determine where you are strong in customer services as well as those areas that you are challenged.  Try to identify some last minute opportunities and win that customer in 2013!
