The holiday shopping season is in full blast, and it’s easy to get caught up in the spirit of giving. This year, be sure you also give to someone important in your life – you.

As a business owner or manager it’s easy to be busy being busy, and forget to take the time to gift yourself with items or inspirations that feed your soul. When you are responsible for others, they count on you to be at your best and you can only do that when you also take care of yourself. As you finish your 2022 holiday shopping, here are some of our favorite finds that any business owner, manager or salesperson is sure to appreciate.

Become indistractable – The book Indistractable by Nir Eyal is a good read or listen if you find yourself constantly running out of day before you run out of things to do. There’s a lot to digest, but one thing that sets Indistractable apart is the real-world tactics you can immediately apply. There’s a good chance you’ll find a few nuggets you can use, even if you don’t agree with everything you read/hear.

Emails that inspire and motivate – Add a few simple-to-digest email subscriptions to your inbox, and pay attention to the messages. In any given month we get actionable ideas, that only take 1-2 minutes to digest. Simple is good, and these are great:

  • Tim Ferriss Five Bullet Friday is a weekly roundup of five cool things Tim discovered or explored that week. Although there are ads and special offers, the bullets are easy to read and have led us to new music, an interesting article and more. Subscribe here: https://go.tim.blog/5-bullet-friday-1/
  • Productivity Coach Casey Moore’s Weekly e-Tips are super short and full of self-care suggestions to help you balance work and life, and cope when the balance is off. Full disclosure, Casey is an R2R client – we don’t get any consideration (she doesn’t know we’re doing this) – we’re sharing because we get a lot of value from her messages. • Your favorite magazine – Chances are your favorite magazine has a weekly or monthly email digest that will give you a break from the work routine with a few moments to think about your hobby or interests. Visit your favorite magazine’s site and subscribe.

A really nice coffee mug or tea cup – For many, the simple act of enjoying a cup of tea or mug of coffee is part of the morning or afternoon routine that feels comforting. Make it extra special with a mug or cup that speaks to you. Whether it’s an extra-thick restaurant-style coffee mug, or a version with picture or witty scene that makes you smile, treat yourself.

Lunch dates with family or friends – It’s easier than ever to have lunch or coffee with a family member, friend or business acquaintance these days. Why? Because you don’t have to meet in person! Set up a video lunch and enjoy each other’s company, while catching up on life and the pursuit of happiness. Pro tip – use headphones and a mic to help eliminate distractions and focus on the other person. Even a 15-minute shared video coffee break can do wonders.

Of course these are just a few suggestions. What gift ideas do you have for other business owners, managers, or sales and marketing professionals? Drop us a note on our website or Facebook.
